The staff includes Registered Nurses, Nurse Assistants, Administrative Support Staff, with attending Physicians and Mid-level providers available 24-7. Our unit is equipped with the highest levels of technology including Electronic Patient Records. Our staff works in collaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams in a patient centered care model in a richly diverse work space.<o:p></o:p>Job Summary<o:p></o:p>Under the general direction of Nursing Leadership and in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse utilizes evidence-based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, and policies and procedures of the hospital. This position develops a plan of care for complex, multi-varianced population of patients, which includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of the patient and family.<o:p></o:p> <h3>Qualifications</h3> Education<o:p></o:p>· Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.<o:p></o:p>· Associate’s degree in Nursing.<o:p></o:p>· Successful completion of nurse residency, if applicable.<o:p></o:p>Experience<o:p></o:p>· One year of experience with a minimum of 1000 hours of clinical experience as a licensed registered nurse.<o:p></o:p>· Experience of IV/line placement required. ACLS certified.<o:p></o:p>· 1 - 3 yr CCU experience required/med-surgical experience · GNR considered<o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p>Licensure, Certification, Registration<o:p></o:p>· Registered Nurse, State of CT<o:p></o:p>· Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA)<o:p></o:p>· Additional certifications may be required in specific specialties<o:p></o:p>Language Skills<o:p></o:p>Must be able to effectively communicate information in English.<o:p></o:p>Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements <o:p></o:p>· Applies the principles and practices of nursing.<o:p></o:p>· Membership in a professional nursing organization preferred.<o:p></o:p>· Demonstrated ability to develop, deliver and evaluate patient care.<o:p></o:p>· Cares for a full patient assignment with expanding scope of responsibilities over time.<o:p></o:p>· Knowledge of high reliability.<o:p></o:p>· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Uses communication skills to foster a healthy work environment and facilitate positive patient outcomes and experience.<o:p></o:p>· Demonstrates cultural sensitivity in all interactions with patients/families and co-workers.<o:p></o:p>· Strong knowledge of and demonstrated skills in providing care for age specific populations.<o:p></o:p>· Strong ability to work as part of a collaborative team.<o:p></o:p>· Ability to act as a preceptor and charge nurse as needed.<o:p></o:p>· Self-directed in clinical responsibilities.<o:p></o:p>· Ability to manage and organize multiple clinical priorities.<o:p></o:p>· Strong computer skills and use of industry applications/programs.
