There are approximately 5,000 diagnostic cardiac caths performed per year and of these, 1,500 become interventions. Hartford Hospital’s operating room provides 24-hour backup in the event that open-heart surgery is needed.</span><br><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12px;">Care of patients undergoing a variety of Catheterization and Interventional procedures with conscious sedation/analgesia administration. Familiarity with IABP, cardiac drugs, and emergency care. Provides holistic, quality and cost-effective nursing care for patients/families and/or others for a patient population within a unit, service or other primary area of practice with an awareness of the episode of care. Our Nurses work in collaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams, focused on a patient centered care model in a richly diverse work space. Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of the hospital and as directed by the medical staff.
