Job description
Key Responsibilities: <p><strong>Clinical Care: </strong> </p><ul><li>Conduct pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-ups. </li><li>Perform daily inpatient rounds, write orders, and manage discharge planning. </li><li>Assist in outpatient clinics for cancer surveillance and follow-up. </li><li>First assist in surgical procedures. </li><li>Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging. </li><li>Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with surgeons. </li><li>Provide patient education regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and recovery. </li> </ul><p><strong>Coordination & Communication: </strong> </p><ul><li>Act as a liaison between patients, families, nursing staff, and physicians. </li><li>Facilitate referrals to other specialties and community resources. </li><li>Participate in tumor boards and multidisciplinary care meetings. </li> </ul><p><strong>Documentation & Compliance: </strong> </p><ul><li>Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record, Epic. </li><li>Ensure compliance with institutional policies and regulatory standards. </li> </ul> Qualifications: <ul><li>Master s degree in Nursing (NP) or Physician Assistant Studies </li><li>Current Indiana state licensure as NP or PA </li><li>Certification in surgical or oncology specialty preferred (e.g., AOCNP) </li><li>BLS/ACLS certification </li><li>DEA license </li><li>Minimum 2 3 years of experience in oncology or surgical care preferred </li> </ul> Skills & Competencies: <ul><li>Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. </li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively. </li><li>Familiarity with Epic and clinical documentation standards. </li> </ul>
