<b>JOB OVERVIEW </b><br>Job Title: Emergency Medicine Physician <br>Job Type: Permanent Full-Time <br>Location: Blackfoot, ID <br>Service Setting: Emergency Department Critical Access Hospital <br>Schedule: 12-hour clinical shifts; consistent monthly schedule structure <br><b>PATIENT POPULATION & SCOPE </b> <br>Patient Demographics: Adults and Geriatrics; occasional Pediatrics <br>Average Daily Volume / Census: Approximately 900 ER visits per month <br>Admissions & Rounding: Included as part of Emergency Department workflow <br>Consults & Follow-Ups: Specialty consults available; follow-ups not required <br>Case Mix/Clinical Focus Areas: Full-spectrum Emergency Medicine, acute care presentations, trauma stabilization, and rapid triage <br><b>FACILITY & TEAM DETAILS </b> <br>Specialty Backup: Access to on-call specialists, imaging, diagnostics, and transfer support <br>Support Staff: Experienced ER nurses, EMS professionals, ancillary departments, and administrative support <br>Leadership & Reporting Structure: Reports to Emergency Medicine Medical Director or Chief Medical Officer <br><b>CREDENTIALING & COMPLIANCE </b> <br>Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 6090 days <br><b>COMPENSATION & PERMANENT BENEFITS </b> <br>Base Salary: Nationally competitive annual salary; increased compensation for hours worked above 144 per month <br>Incentive Bonus Structure: Quality-based incentives available <br>Relocation Assistance: Up to $40,000 relocation assistance <br>Student Loan Repayment: Potential eligibility for federal and state forgiveness programs <br>CME Allowance: $5,000 annually <br>PTO & Holidays: Standard PTO and observed holidays (program-specific details provided during interview) <br>Health & Retirement Benefits: <br>Medical, Dental, Vision <br>Retirement plan with employer contributions <br>Life & Disability Coverage <br>Malpractice Insurance covered <br><b>REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS </b> <br>Board Status: BC/BE in Emergency Medicine <br>State License Required: Eligibility for Idaho medical licensure <br>Certifications: ACLS and BLS required; additional certifications as needed for Emergency Medicine practice <br>Experience: Prior Emergency Medicine experience preferred <br>Additional Requirements: Ability to work independently in a fast-paced CAH environment; EMR proficiency; strong team-based care orientation <br><b>DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES </b> <br>Provide full-spectrum Emergency Medicine care in a high-acuity Critical Access Hospital setting <br>Evaluate and manage a wide range of emergency presentations with support from nursing, EMS, and specialty teams <br>Utilize well-equipped ER resources including diagnostics, imaging, and rapid transfer protocols <br>Participate in collaborative care with hospitalists, EMS, and ancillary departments <br>Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital standards <br>Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and departmental workflow optimization <br><b>COMMUNITY & LOCATION HIGHLIGHTS </b> <br>About the Area: Blackfoot offers a family-friendly, small-town environment with strong community support and easy access to outdoor recreation <br>Local Attractions: Close proximity to skiing, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and camping; near Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks <br>School System: Well-rated public schools with additional charter and private options in neighboring cities <br>Housing: Affordable housing with diverse neighborhood options and spacious properties <br>Demographic & Professional Profile: Community of families, outdoor enthusiasts, and healthcare professionals <br>Nearby Cities: Positioned between Idaho Falls and Pocatello <br>Nearest Airport: Idaho Falls Regional Airport <br>Distance from Airport: Approximately 25 minutes by car <br>
