Adelphi is seeking a licensed Primary Care Physician for a full-time, short-term assignment (minimum 3 months) in Taylor County, Texas. The ideal candidate will provide primary care, manage acute and chronic conditions, and complete required medical assessments. <br/> <b> <br/> </b> <b> Job Quick Facts </b> <br/> Reference #: BD-673-64 <br/> Profession: Physician <br/> Specialty: Primary Care <br/> Location: Taylor County, Texas <br/> Service Setting: Primary care facility with clinics and 16-bed infirmary. <br/> Position Type: Full-Time Short-Term Contract (Minimum 3 Months) <br/> Schedule: MondayFriday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM <br/> Call Schedule: Every 6th weekday, 5:00 PM 8:00 AM; one weekend on call every 6 weeks <br/> Start Date: As soon as candidate is available <br/> Patient Load: Caseload of 3545 patients; typically no more than 10 patients per day <br/> <br/> <b> Requirements </b> <br/> Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) <br/> Current Texas medical license in good standing with no history of sanctions <br/> Active DEA, NPI, and CPR/BLS certifications <br/> Ability to meet all agency and facility requirements prior to start <br/> Experience treating acute and chronic medical conditions <br/> Experience with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities preferred <br/> Familiarity with electronic health records, particularly Cerner, preferred <br/> Prior experience at a State Hospital or SSLC advantageous <br/> <br/> <b> Responsibilities </b> <br/> Manage a caseload of 3545 patients, typically =10 per day. <br/> Provide medical care for acute illness, injury, follow-up, and ongoing primary care. <br/> Conduct clinics and complete annual and interval medical assessments. <br/> Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings. <br/> Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic medical conditions. <br/> Document patient care in the electronic health record. <br/> Provide on-call coverage every 6th weekday (5:00 PM8:00 AM) and one weekend every 6 weeks. <br/> Respond to most on-call needs by phone, with rare return to campus as needed. <br/> Perform weekend/holiday infirmary rounds and evaluate acute illnesses or injuries. <br/> Perform other duties as assigned. <br/> <br/>
