Locum Tenens OB/GYN Opportunity near Colorado Springs, CO (ASAP - Ongoing) <p>We are seeking a <strong>Board-Certified OB/GYN </strong> for a locum tenens position near Colorado Springs, CO. This is an exciting opportunity to provide critical care in both low and high-risk obstetric and gynecological cases, helping to address gaps in the communitys OB/GYN coverage. The assignment begins ASAP and runs through August 2025, offering a blend of clinic-based services and 24-hour call shifts on weekends. </p> Position Details: <ul><li><strong>Profession: </strong> OB/GYN Physician </li><li><strong>Shift Type: </strong> Clinic Monday through Thursday (9 AM - 4:30 PM), Friday (9 AM - 3:30 PM), and 24-hour call shifts (Friday 7 AM to Monday 7 AM). </li><li><strong>Weekend Requirements: </strong> Yes, 24-hour weekend call shifts, Friday-Saturday or Saturday-Sunday. </li><li><strong>On-Call Requirements: </strong> Yes, 24-hour call including both obstetric and gynecologic emergencies. </li> </ul> Responsibilities: <ul><li>Provide comprehensive care for both <strong>low and high-risk pregnancies </strong>, including patients with pre-existing conditions such as twins, diabetes, and toxemia. </li><li>Perform routine and complicated deliveries, including <strong>C-sections, breech presentations, and multiple births </strong>. </li><li>Manage <strong>fetal heart rate (FHR) interpretation </strong> through non-stress tests (NST), contraction stress tests (CST), and fetal scalp electrodes (FSE). </li><li>Perform and interpret <strong>OB ultrasounds </strong>, including Level I/screening (viability) and Level II/targeted (anatomic) ultrasounds. </li><li>Handle <strong>VBACs </strong> (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean) and repair of <strong>3rd and 4th-degree lacerations </strong>. </li><li>Manage office-based minor gynecological procedures such as <strong>IUD placement, colposcopy, cryosurgery, and LEEP </strong>. </li><li>Perform <strong>surgical gynecology </strong>, including laparoscopic diagnostic and minor surgeries (tubal ligations, ovarian cystectomies) and more advanced surgeries (ectopic pregnancy, extensive lysis of adhesions). </li> </ul> Required Certifications and Skills: <ul><li><strong>ACLS, BLS, NRP </strong> certifications Required. </li><li><strong>Board Certified OB/GYN </strong> Required. </li><li>Must be licensed to practice in the state of <strong>Colorado </strong>. </li> </ul> Schedule & Call: <ul><li><strong>Clinic: </strong> Monday through Thursday, 9 AM to 4:30 PM; Friday, 9 AM to 3:30 PM. </li><li><strong>Call Shifts: </strong> 24-hour call on weekends, from Friday 7 AM to Monday 7 AM, with no back-to-back 24-hour shifts. </li><li><strong>Call-Back Percentage: </strong> Weekdays 2%, Weekend 5%, OB 20%, GYN 80%. </li> </ul> Additional Details: <ul><li><strong>Coverage Reason: </strong> Loss of physicians in the community, leading to a need for additional OB/GYN support. </li><li>This locum tenens position does not involve working at satellite locations. </li><li>The position is <strong>clinic-focused </strong> during weekdays and <strong>hospital-based </strong> during weekend on-call shifts. </li> </ul><p>This opportunity is ideal for OB/GYN physicians looking for a meaningful locum tenens assignment in a community-focused setting.
