Position Overview: <ul><li>Specialty : Obstetrics and Gynecology </li><li>Location : Near Barnardsville, North Carolina </li><li>Assignment Dates :<ul><li>November 27, 2024, 7 am - December 1, 2024, 7 am </li><li>December 20, 2024, 5 pm - December 23, 2024, 7 am </li><li>December 31, 2024, 7 am - January 3, 2025, 7 am </li> </ul> </li><li>Facility Setting : Both inpatient and outpatient coverage, with call responsibilities </li> </ul>Role Highlights: <ul><li>Patient Volume :<ul><li>4-6 patients per shift in the hospital </li><li>Up to 15 patients per shift in the clinic </li> </ul> </li><li>Call Requirements :<ul><li>Call response time: 30 minutes </li><li>Beeper call, with 4-6 patient visits during call periods </li><li>100% callback rate with 4 admissions expected per call period </li> </ul> </li><li>Practice Setting : Clinic and call coverage on weekdays, weekend call coverage only, with midwife support on weekdays </li> </ul>Responsibilities: <ul><li>Delivery and Surgical Requirements :<ul><li>50 deliveries, including 12 cesareans, within the last 12 months </li><li>25 gynecological surgeries, with at least 5 major abdominal or vaginal surgeries </li><li>Competency in handling low and high-risk pregnancies, cesareans, VBAC, breech, and multiple births </li><li>Proficiency in routine and complex OB/GYN procedures, such as amniocentesis, low-forceps delivery, and cesarean decision-making </li><li>Experience with gynecological surgeries, including cystectomies, ovary removals, ectopic pregnancy management, and laparoscopic minor procedures </li> </ul> </li> </ul>Requirements: <ul><li>Board Certification : Board certified or eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology </li><li>Certifications : ACLS required; intermediate fetal monitoring certification preferred </li><li>Licensure : Must hold or be eligible for an active North Carolina license </li><li>Experience : Minimum recent procedural requirements as listed above </li><li>EMR Systems : Familiarity with McKesson and Athena is a plus </li> </ul>Support Structure: <ul><li>Staffing : Includes RNs, CMAs, and midwives to assist during shifts </li><li>Hospital Beds : 15-bed OB/GYN unit with full support for inpatient needs </li><li>Call Support : Midwife assistance for weekday calls; physician-only weekend call coverage </li> </ul>Additional Details: <ul><li>Credentialing : Estimated 90-day process, with temporary privileges available for candidates with clean malpractice history </li><li>Travel and Lodging : Covered travel expenses, with nearby accommodations in Dillsboro, NC </li> </ul>This position offers an ideal blend of inpatient and outpatient work with a supportive team in a scenic area of North Carolina.
