Locum Tenens: Anesthesiology Physician <p><strong>Location: Near Bangor, ME </strong><br><strong>Dates: ASAP - Ongoing </strong> </p><p>We are seeking a dedicated Anesthesiology physician for a locum tenens opportunity near Bangor, ME. This position is ideal for an experienced anesthesiologist looking to join a critical access hospital in a historic seaport area. The assignment offers a balanced schedule with call requirements and a supportive team environment. </p> Position Overview: <ul><li><strong>Position Type </strong>: Locum Tenens </li><li><strong>Specialty </strong>: Anesthesiology </li><li><strong>Start Date </strong>: January 1, 2025 </li><li><strong>End Date </strong>: September 1, 2025 </li><li><strong>Coverage Type </strong>: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call </li><li><strong>Practice Setting </strong>: Critical access hospital </li><li><strong>EMR System </strong>: EPIC </li><li><strong>Shift Hours </strong>: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM </li><li><strong>Call Schedule </strong>: Every third, flexible </li><li><strong>Average Surgical Cases per Day </strong>: 14-16, including endoscopy </li> </ul> Key Responsibilities: <ul><li>Provide anesthesia for general surgical cases, including minor nerve blocks, plexus anesthesia, epidural anesthesia, spinal anesthesia, regional anesthesia, and obstetrical cases </li><li>Perform pain management procedures, including acute pain management and arterial line insertion </li><li>Manage and evaluate acute volume and blood pressure issues </li><li>No supervision of CRNAs required; physicians perform their own cases </li><li>Prepare the anesthesia cart and handle pre-op documentation using Epic </li><li>Work with congenial, professional, and helpful OR staff in a facility with three anesthesia sites per day </li> </ul> Qualifications: <ul><li><strong>Board Certification </strong>: Board Certified ABA required (candidates in the board certification process will be considered) </li><li><strong>State License </strong>: Licensed in Maine or willing to obtain </li><li><strong>Certifications </strong>: ACLS and BLS preferred </li><li><strong>Estimated Credentialing Timeframe </strong>: 60 days </li> </ul> Additional Details: <ul><li><strong>Practice Setting </strong>: No trauma designation </li><li><strong>Number of Operating Rooms </strong>: Three anesthesia sites including ORs and endoscopy rooms </li><li><strong>Patient Age Demographic </strong>: 3-100+ </li><li><strong>Call Ratio </strong>: Every third, flexible </li> </ul><p>This opportunity offers a chance to work in a historic setting with a flexible schedule and supportive staff.
