Locum Tenens Job Opportunity: General Medicine Physician (Near Greenbelt, MD) <p>We are seeking a <strong>General Medicine Physician </strong> for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity near Greenbelt, MD. This role focuses on performing <strong>Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams </strong> and <strong>Separation Health Assessments </strong> for Veterans, supporting a government contract that provides essential services to those who have served. </p><p>This is a <strong>PRN position </strong>, meaning that work is scheduled on an as-needed basis, offering you flexibility. Providers with a background in <strong>family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery </strong>, or <strong>general medicine </strong> are encouraged to apply, especially those experienced with <strong>compensation and pension exams </strong>. </p> Responsibilities: <ul><li>Conduct <strong>interview-based exams </strong> with some physical assessments, including:<ul><li>Range of motion testing </li><li>Muscle strength testing </li><li>METs testing for evaluating respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions </li> </ul> </li><li>Perform one-time, non-treatment <strong>C&P exams </strong> and <strong>separation health assessments </strong> </li><li>No prescribing or treatment involved </li><li><strong>Quick credentialing </strong> and onboarding to get you started promptly </li><li>Familiarity with <strong>musculoskeletal, diabetes </strong>, and <strong>cardiovascular conditions </strong> is essential </li><li>Use of a goniometer required for physical assessments </li><li>Bring your own personal laptop (No Macbooks) </li> </ul> Work Options: <ul><li><strong>Travel </strong> to perform exams at leased facilities or <strong>schedule exams </strong> within your own practice </li><li>Option to work <strong>half-days (4 hours) </strong> or <strong>full-days (8 hours) </strong> based on availability </li> </ul> Weekend Availability: <ul><li>Option to work on weekends if desired or needed </li> </ul> Qualifications: <ul><li>Background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine </li><li>Proficiency in METs testing and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions </li><li>DMA certification available (CME credits provided); certification is required after onboarding </li><li>Training provided for completing <strong>Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) </strong> </li> </ul><p>This opportunity provides a flexible schedule with the chance to support Veterans in their healthcare needs.
