JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Vascular & Interventional Radiology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Bismarck, North Dakota Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: Aug 12, 2026 Ongoing Shift Schedule: Mon Fri, 8a 4p, with evening call 4p 8a; Sat Sun, 24-hour call Reason for Coverage: Gap in schedule Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered COVERAGE DATES: Orientation: Aug 12 (8a-3p) Aug 13-18 (8a-8p) PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 10-15 procedures per day Case Mix: General interventional radiology procedures (vascular, body interventions, biopsies, drainages, etc.) FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Epic PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Temporary Privileges Available: No Credentialing Timeline: 60-90 days REQUIRED PROCEDURES Diagnostic vascular intervention Angiography venous and arterial Therapeutic vascular intervention Angioplasty venous and arterial Stenting (venous and arterial) Thrombolytic therapy Emobolization therapy Interventional (body, non-neuro) Vascular access devices/PICCS Central lines Port a cath insertions IVC Filters TIPS Aspiration/drainage procedures Percutaneous Needle Biopsies (Above & Below diaphragm, and Bone) Extractions (Biliary & Renal) Abscess drainage Thoracentesis Paracentesis Myelopgraphy Pain management procedures Perc. Transhepatic Choleangiogram Blood patch Joint/epidural injections Vertebroplasty Arthrograms Chest tube insertion Uterine artery embolization Liver Y90/Tace Gastrostomy tube insertion Nephrostomy/ureteral stent insertion Renal fistulograms Cryoablation Preferred but not required: Neuro (head) stroke thrombectomy JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board Certified in Vascular & Interventional Radiology (Required) Licenses: Active North Dakota license highly preferred; Universal License (IMLC) required if ND license is not active Certifications: ACLS, BLS Experience: IR residency or fellowship required; must have experience with all required procedures Other Qualifications: Clean malpractice history highly preferred; availability at time of name clear required; NPDB self-query report dated within 30 days of presentation required Duties & Responsibilities Perform a wide range of interventional radiology procedures, including diagnostic and therapeutic vascular interventions, biopsies, drainages, and access device placements. Provide on-call coverage for evening and weekend emergencies. Collaborate with referring physicians to determine appropriate interventional procedures. Maintain accurate documentation in the Epic EMR system. Participate in quality assurance and safety protocols as required.
