<p>We are looking for a <strong>Board-Certified General Surgeon </strong> for an exciting locum tenens opportunity in <strong>southern California, near Santa Monica </strong>. This position offers a mix of inpatient and outpatient surgical care, with a focus on providing high-quality services to patients in a scenic coastal area. </p> Position Details: <ul><li><strong>Location: </strong> Near Santa Monica, California </li><li><strong>Start Date: </strong> January 1, 2025 </li><li><strong>End Date: </strong> Ongoing </li><li><strong>Coverage Type: </strong> Scheduled clinical hours with call coverage </li><li><strong>Shift Details: </strong> Monday through Friday (8 AM to 5 PM), with night and weekend beeper call </li><li><strong>On-Call Requirements: </strong> Beeper call, usually one call per day; rarely requires a physical visit to the facility </li> </ul> Specialty Focus: <ul><li>General Surgery with a focus on <strong>Oncology Breast Surgery </strong> </li><li><strong>Surgeries required: </strong> Lumpectomy, mastectomies (including nipple-sparing mastectomy), sentinel node biopsy, and axillary dissection </li><li><strong>Experience: </strong> Providers must have extensive experience in breast surgery and be comfortable handling both high-risk and benign breast disease </li> </ul> Key Responsibilities: <ul><li>Provide inpatient and outpatient surgical care </li><li>Perform a variety of general surgery procedures, with a strong focus on breast oncology </li><li>Collaborate in joint oncoplastic surgeries as needed </li><li>Handle both scheduled and emergency surgical cases </li> </ul> Required Certifications: <ul><li><strong>Board Certification in General Surgery </strong> </li><li><strong>BLS certification </strong> </li><li>California State Medical License (or eligibility) </li> </ul> Additional Information: <ul><li><strong>EMR System: </strong> Epic </li><li><strong>Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: </strong> 60-90 days </li><li>No travel reimbursement for licensing or credentialing </li><li>Fellowship in breast surgery preferred, but general surgeons with extensive breast surgery experience will also be considered </li> </ul><p>This is a great opportunity for a general surgeon seeking a long-term locum assignment in a beautiful and desirable location near Santa Monica, California.
