The Per Diem RN in Medical Imaging is responsible for providing direct patient care by applying special clinical nursing knowledge and skills related to the Medical Imaging setting. They will strive to ensure the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards. Primary Responsibilities:<ul><li>Provide direct patient care for patients undergoing procedures in the imaging suite such as CT, MR, US, Radiography, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine and Card Lab where applicable.<ul><li>Assist physicians and technologists with patient preparation for procedures</li><li>Assists during procedures</li><li>Gather information. Responsible for appropriate labeling, handling, delivering and tracking of specimens from collection to reporting.</li><li>Provide health education information. Provide post procedure instructions.</li><li>AEB: skill demonstration, observation, document audits, attendance at educational inservices</li></ul></li><li>Care of patients: performs technical and supportive patient care skills including, but not limited to:<ul><li>Waived testing</li><li>Respiratory care</li><li>Medical emergency response</li><li>Safe and effective medication administration</li><li>Prioritization of urgent patient care needs</li><li>IV skills, venipuncture</li><li>Catheterization skill</li><li>EKG monitoring</li><li>AEB: skill demonstration, observation, attendance at educational inservices and log audits</li></ul></li><li>Infection control: Provides environment to prevent and control the spread of disease within the clinical setting. Maintenance of cleaning logs. Survey for non-functional equipment. CPR, oxygen administration and intravenous therapy. CRT experience</li><li>Proven excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills</li><li>8 shift per month</li><li>4 shifts per year before or after clinic holidays, with 2 shifts related to summer holidays and 2 shifts related to winter holidays</li></ul> Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in nursing</li><li>ACLS</li><li>Specialty nursing certification applicable to medical imaging</li><li>Experience in a medical imaging setting/center</li><li>Windows computer experience, RIS experience</li></ul> Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
