<p><strong>Academic Rank Open - Cardiac Anesthesiologist</strong></p><p>Albany Medical Center, the Capital Region's only academic medical center and Level 1 Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center, is seeking <strong>cardiac anesthesiologists</strong> to join our growing adult <strong>Cardiac Anesthesia Division</strong> in the Department of Anesthesiology. This recruitment is driven by significant growth in our adult open-heart program and busy structural heart services.</p><p>In this role, you will be part of a collegial, highly skilled team providing care for a wide spectrum of cardiac surgical and interventional cardiology patients. You will have opportunities to:</p><ul><li><strong>Practice at the top of your specialty</strong> with a high-volume program covering CABG, valve surgery (including multi-valve procedures), and aortic surgery, as well as busy structural heart program (TAVR, TMVR, TEER, and more).</li><li><strong>Engage in teaching and mentorship</strong> for cardiac anesthesia fellows, anesthesiology residents, SRNAs, and medical students.</li><li><strong>Participate in clinical and educational research</strong> with experienced mentors and institutional support.</li><li><strong>Collaborate with nationally recognized cardiac surgeons, interventional cardiologists, and intensivists</strong> in a multidisciplinary environment.</li><li>Benefit from <strong>flexible staffing patterns</strong> and part-time options.</li><li><strong>Our Cardiac Anesthesia Service:</strong></li><li>Expecting approximately <strong>700 open cardiac surgical cases this year </strong>(up from 400 last year), plus <strong>over 1,200 structural heart cases</strong>.</li><li>Uses <strong>state-of-the-art intraoperative echocardiography</strong> (all faculty are Advanced Perioperative TEE-certified).</li><li>Works in a dedicated cardiac OR block with specialized cardiac anesthesia support staff.</li><li>Provides perioperative care in a cardiac anesthesia care team model focused on quality and safety.</li></ul><p><strong>Salary & Benefits:</strong><br />Competitive salary for Assistant Professor range $391,000-$411,000, with higher ranks discussed following interviews. Compensation of ~$25,000 for cardiac pager call plus additional pay if called in.
