<p>The Division of Nephrology at Albany Medical College is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Transplant Nephrologist to join its growing and collaborative abdominal transplant program. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a multidisciplinary academic transplant team within a leading regional health system committed to clinical excellence, innovation, education, and continued program growth.</p><p>This position offers a balanced practice that combines transplant nephrology and general nephrology responsibilities, with opportunities to help shape the future direction of a modern and expanding transplant program.</p><p><strong>This role offers:</strong></p><ul><li><p>The opportunity of a combined practice in transplant nephrology and general nephrology.</p></li><li><p>Participation in inpatient transplant care and multidisciplinary transplant rounds</p></li><li><p>Involvement in the medical management of kidney transplant recipients, including immunosuppression management, graft function evaluation, and transplant-specific care.</p></li><li><p>Equally shared coverage of transplant-related inpatient consults and transplant nephrology call responsibilities.</p></li><li><p>Participation in outpatient transplant clinics, including:</p><ul><li><p>Pre-transplant recipient evaluations.</p></li><li><p>Living donor evaluations.</p></li><li><p>Post-transplant follow-up care.</p></li><li><p>Ongoing expansion initiatives including NKR program.</p></li></ul></li><li><p>Collaboration with transplant surgery, advanced practice providers, coordinators, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary support teams.</p></li><li><p>Opportunities to participate in organ offer review and recipient selection discussions as transplant volume continues to grow.</p></li><li><p>Active involvement in quality improvement, and transplant program development initiatives.</p></li><li><p>An academic appointment at Albany Medical College with opportunities in teaching, clinical collaboration, and programmatic leadership.</p></li></ul><p><strong>The ideal candidate will have:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Experience managing kidney transplant recipients across inpatient and outpatient settings, preferably in the last 2 years.</p></li><li><p>Interest in helping expand and modernize a multidisciplinary transplant program.</p></li><li><p>Strong collaborative and communication skills.</p></li><li><p>Commitment to patient-centered care, quality improvement, and academic medicine.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Practice Highlights:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Established and growing kidney transplant program serving the Capital Region and surrounding communities.</p></li><li><p>Multidisciplinary transplant team with collaborative inpatient and outpatient care models.</p></li><li><p>Opportunities to help shape the structure of transplant nephrology services as the program expands.</p></li><li><p>Participation in transplant recipient management across the continuum of care</p></li><li><p>Growing outpatient transplant clinic volume and referral base.</p></li><li><p>System-wide EMR and modern clinical infrastructure.</p></li><li><p>Teaching opportunities with residents, fellows, medical students, and advanced practice providers.</p></li><li><p>Academic environment that supports research, quality initiatives, and program development.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Fellowship training in Transplant Nephrology from an accredited transplant nephrology fellowship program.</p></li><li><p>MD/DO or equivalent degree with board certification or eligibility in Nephrology</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated clinical expertise in nephrology subspecialty care</p></li><li><p>Eligible for medical licensure in the state of New York.</p></li><li><p>Academic experience or interest sufficient for appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.</p></li><li><p>Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach to care.</p></li><li><p>Commitment to education, quality improvement, and advancing transplant.
