Hematology Oncology-Medical Director - Physician - Albany, NY

<p><p><strong>Practice Location</strong>: <strong>St. Peters Health Partners</strong></p><ol><li>Albany - 315 South Manning Blvd, Albany, NY 12208</li><li>Troy - 2215 Burdett Ave. Troy, NY 12180</li><li>Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, closed on Saturdays and Sundays.</li></ol><p><strong><u>Package Highlights:</u></strong></p><ol><li>Annual Salary: $550,000 - 600,000 year 1 & 2, plus a WRVU productivity model</li><li>Annual Salary: $650,000 years 3-5</li><li>Quality Bonus: available</li><li>CME Allowance: $5,000</li><li>Signing Bonus: available</li><li>Education Loan Repayment Opportunity</li><li>Relocation Reimbursement: available</li><li>5-year Contract with Stable/Guaranteed Base</li><li>A Generous Benefits Package</li></ol><p><strong><u>Practice Highlights:</u></strong></p><p>St. Peters Health Partners (SPHP) is affiliated with Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, Buffalo NY.<br>RPCI Oncology, PC will employ the physicians associated with the hematology/oncology program.</p><ol><li>Physicians see between 15-18 patient/day (Physician may see a higher volume of patients if desired).</li><li>APPs see about 10-12 patients/day.</li><li>Physicians dont have any patients when rounding at the hospital.</li><li>Average Daily Hospital Census:<strong> </strong>20-30 patients/day.</li><li>Office schedules and call patient loads are all manageable/equitable.</li><li>Average Albany Clinic Volume: 5080 patients/day. Average Daily Infusion Visit Volume: 3038 patients/day.</li><li>Average Troy Clinic Volume: 40 patients/day. Average Daily Infusion Visit Volume: 15-20 patients/day.</li><li>Nurses, APPs, and MDs may administer antineoplastic agents.</li><li>MDs and APPs administer intrathecal, intralesion, and intracavity.</li><li>Bone marrow and FNA biopsies are primarily done by Interventional Radiology.</li><li>Nurses manage VAD catheters.</li><li>Intrapleural therapies are administered in the inpatient setting.</li><li>Roswell Park and SPHP are collaboratively pursuing clinical trials at SPHP.</li><li>Oncology Service Line mix is approximately 80% oncology, 20% benign hematology.</li><li>Oncology Services Line is moving toward a 1:1 MD:APP model.</li></ol><p><strong><u>Patient Demographic</u></strong></p><ol><li>All socio-economic backgrounds</li><li>Patient ages range from Geriatric to Young Adult (no pediatrics).</li><li>High volumes of pancreatic, breast, colon, and urology.</li><li>Lower volumes of melanoma and renal.</li><li>Physicians have most of specialties available within SPHP system (Thoracic, GI, H&N, and GU).</li><li>GI group is private but collaborates well with SPHP Oncology Service Line.</li><li>SPHP Oncology Service Line does not manage acute leukemias.</li><li>SPHP Oncology Service Line does not have a BMT/TCT program currently.</li></ol><p>*Oncology Services Line has dedicated APPs for inpatient service and dedicated APPs for outpatient services</p><p><strong><u>Support Staff</u></strong></p><ol><li>SPHP Nursing achieved Magnet designation in 2022</li><li>Physicians have a Primary Nurse who handles triage calls and paperwork</li><li>Dedicated Nurses are assigned in the Albany and Troy clinic - Nurses room patients, etc.</li></ol><p>**4 Full time Pharmacists - Mix Chemo, available to assist w/ questions - very approachable.</p><p><strong><u>Call Responsibilities:</u></strong></p><ol><li>1:5 schedule for inpatient consult/call responsibility.</li><li>1:7 schedule is the future goal.</li><li>Consult Service: Hospitalists admit patients and dedicated inpatient APPs manage patients.</li><li>Afterhours Call Responsibility: Monday - Thursday every 5 weeks.</li><li>Weekend Call Responsibility: Friday - Sunday every 5 weeks.</li><li><strong>EMR: </strong>EPIC</li></ol><p><strong>Tumor Boards:</strong> GU, GI, Breast, Thoracic, General.</p><p>***Virtual Access to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Centers subspecialized Tumor Boards.</p><p><strong><u>Qualifications:</u></strong></p><ol><li>Physician must hold Board Certification with the American Board of Internal Medicine with subspecialty certification in Medical Oncology and Hematology, or actively in progress.</li><li>Values patient-centered care and has desire to work within a team model</li><li>Demonstrates top-notch interpersonal skills in addition to excellent clinical skills</li><li>Enthusiastic and motivated to provide the best possible care and outcomes</li></ol><p><em>We welcome your interest and resume!
