<p>VHC Health seeks a dynamic and visionary <strong>Medical Director of Breast Health</strong> to lead our Breast Health Center, currently staffed by three dedicated physicians and poised for growth. This is a transformational leadership opportunity for a board-certified breast or general surgeon to shape the future of comprehensive breast care in one of the region's most respected health systems.</p><p>The ideal candidate is a highly skilled clinician and experienced leader who thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. They will drive clinical excellence, foster a positive team culture, and spearhead programmatic development to elevate the quality, safety, and visibility of our breast health services.</p><p><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Provide <strong>strategic and clinical leadership</strong> for the Breast Health Center in alignment with the Women's Health service line and system-wide goals.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate across disciplines-radiology, oncology, pathology, plastic surgery, and primary care-to ensure seamless, evidence-based, patient-centered care.</p></li><li><p>Lead and mentor a <strong>high-performing team</strong>, fostering a culture of mutual respect, transparency, and continuous improvement.</p></li><li><p>Serve as the primary medical lead for <strong>quality initiatives</strong>, clinical protocols, peer review, and compliance with national guidelines (e.g., NAPBC, NCCN).</p></li><li><p>Develop and implement initiatives to improve <strong>access, equity, and outcomes</strong> in breast health.</p></li><li><p>Represent the Breast Health Program within VHC Health and in the community, cultivating referral relationships and increasing program visibility.</p></li><li><p>Actively participate in <strong>tumor board</strong>, strategic planning, and the implementation of new technologies and service lines.</p></li><li><p>Partner with administrative and nursing leadership on program growth, recruitment, capital planning, and operational excellence.</p></li></ul><p><strong>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p><ul><li><p>MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school</p></li><li><p>Board Certified in General Surgery with Breast Surgical Oncology fellowship training</p></li><li><p>Eligible for unrestricted Virginia medical licensure</p></li><li><p>Minimum <strong>5 years of clinical experience</strong>, including demonstrated leadership in multidisciplinary breast care</p></li><li><p>Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a team-oriented mindset</p></li><li><p>Commitment to advancing health equity and excellence in women's health</p></li></ul><p>Join us in redefining breast health care at VHC Health-where leadership, compassion, and innovation meet.<br><br>To apply, please e-mail your CV to Andrea Bell, Director, Physician Services Recruitment at <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="editor-link" href="mailto:anbell@vhchealth.org">anbell@vhchealth.org</a></p><p><em>At VHC Health, every role contributes to exceptional care, better outcomes, and stronger communities.</em></p><p><em>Compensation Range:</em> <em>$250,000.00 - $552,240.00 annually</em></p><p><em>In addition to your base compensation, VHC Health offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage (subject to eligibility requirements), as well as additional wellness and retirement benefits designed to support our employees and their families.</em></p><p><em>VHC Health is committed to wage transparency and equitable pay practices.
