Neonatal Nurse Practitioner - NICU

<strong>Description</strong><br><h3>Job Summary</h3><p>We are seeking an <strong>experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner</strong> to join our <strong>Level III NICU team in Shreveport, LA</strong>. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside a highly collaborative group of neonatal providers dedicated to delivering exceptional care to critically ill and premature newborns.</p><p>The ideal candidate will have prior NICU experience and be comfortable managing high-acuity neonatal patients in both independent and team-based settings. This role includes a rotating schedule of days, nights, and weekends, providing comprehensive coverage for the NICU service.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li> Provide advanced neonatal care for patients in a <strong>Level III NICU</strong> </li><li> Evaluate, diagnose, and manage critically ill and premature newborns </li><li> Participate in delivery attendance, including high-risk deliveries and C-sections </li><li> Perform neonatal assessments, stabilization, and ongoing management </li><li> Collaborate closely with neonatologists and multidisciplinary care teams </li><li> Respond to urgent and emergent neonatal situations </li><li> Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR </li><li> Provide education and support to families throughout the NICU stay </li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li> Current licensure as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner </li><li> National certification as an NNP </li><li> <strong>Previous NICU experience required</strong> </li><li> Candidates with prior NICU nursing experience may be considered depending on overall background and training </li><li> Strong clinical judgment and ability to function independently in high-acuity situations </li><li> Excellent communication and teamwork skills </li></ul><h3>Practice Highlights</h3><ul><li> <strong>Level III NICU</strong> </li><li> Established team consisting of <strong>2 Neonatologists and 4 Advanced Practice Providers</strong> </li><li> Work alongside a highly respected and supportive physician group </li><li> Collaborative culture with strong provider retention and excellent team dynamics </li><li> Balanced scheduling with shared coverage responsibilities among providers </li><li> Day shifts include direct physician collaboration; overnight providers have physician call support available </li></ul><h3>Schedule & Compensation</h3><ul><li> Rotating schedule consisting of <strong>12-hour shifts</strong> </li><li> Mix of <strong>days, nights, and weekends</strong> </li><li> Schedule designed to provide equitable distribution of coverage among providers </li><li> Competitive compensation based on experience </li><li> Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, malpractice coverage, PTO, CME allowance, and a 403(b) retirement plan with employer match</li></ul>
