<p><strong>Neurocritical Care Attending - Community Medical Center</strong></p><p><strong>(Central New Jersey)</strong></p><p>RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a <strong>Neurocritical Care Attending</strong> to join our growing Neurology team at Community Medical Center. This is an exciting opportunity to practice in a collaborative, high-acuity environment within New Jersey's largest integrated healthcare system, while contributing to the continued advancement of stroke and neurocritical care services.</p><p>This role offers a unique consultative model within the ICU, allowing the Neurocritical Care Attending to provide specialized expertise for complex neurological and neurosurgical cases while working alongside multidisciplinary teams. The position also includes a structured week-on/week-off schedule supporting both on-site care and telestroke services across multiple RWJBarnabas Health facilities.</p><p><strong>Position Overview</strong></p><p>The Neurocritical Care Attending will provide full-time clinical and administrative services, delivering expert consultation for critically ill patients with neurological conditions. This role supports a consult-only ICU model, where the ICU team remains primary, and neurocritical care expertise is provided through daily rounding and collaboration.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li><p>Provide neurocritical care consultation for ICU patients with acute neurological and neurosurgical conditions, including:</p><ul><li><p>Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), large vessel occlusion (LVO)</p></li><li><p>Post-operative neurosurgical cases, cerebral edema, seizures, and other neurological emergencies</p></li></ul></li><li><p>Participate in ICU rounds, physician collaboration, and family discussions</p></li><li><p>Deliver ischemic stroke and transient ischemic attack (TIA) management support</p></li><li><p>Provide <strong>26 weeks of annual coverage</strong> in a structured week-on/week-off model:</p><ul><li><p>Daily schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (on-site)</p></li><li><p>Overnight coverage: 5:00 PM - 8:00 AM (unrestricted, including telestroke responsibilities)</p></li><li><p>24/7 tele-evaluation availability for stroke patients across northern RWJBarnabas Health sites</p></li></ul></li><li><p>Educate residents and colleagues in neurocritical care</p></li><li><p>Participate in multidisciplinary quality, safety, and stroke program initiatives</p></li><li><p>Contribute to the development of treatment protocols and evidence-based care pathways</p></li><li><p>Support and advance Joint Commission Stroke Center certification efforts</p></li><li><p>Participate in the Stroke Advisory Committee and required CME activities</p></li><li><p>Engage in IRB-approved research and patient recruitment initiatives</p></li></ul><p><strong>Candidate Requirements</strong></p><ul><li><p>Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology</p></li><li><p>Fellowship training in Neurocritical Care preferred</p></li><li><p>Eligible for New Jersey medical licensure</p></li><li><p>Strong clinical, communication, and collaborative skills</p></li><li><p>Commitment to academic medicine, education, and quality improvement</p></li></ul><p><strong>Compensation & Benefits</strong></p><p>The anticipated salary range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey is <strong>$300,000 - $450,000 per year</strong>.
