Nurse Practitioner - Cardiology

<p>The <strong>Division of Cardiology at Albany Medical College</strong> is seeking a <strong>full-time Nurse Practitioner </strong>to join our busy and collaborative outpatient cardiology practice. This position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality cardiovascular care in a supportive, team-oriented environment while working closely with cardiologists and multidisciplinary care teams.</p><p>This role will primarily focus on outpatient follow-up visits and pre-operative cardiovascular evaluations, supporting continuity of care for patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions.</p><p><strong>Position Highlights</strong></p><ul><li><p>Full-time Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm</p></li><li><p>Outpatient clinic-based role</p></li><li><p>Average 15 patients per day once fully trained with 2 half days of admin time (8 patients on admin days)</p></li><li><p>Collaborative practice with cardiologists, nurses, and ancillary support staff</p></li><li><p>Opportunity to build expertise in outpatient cardiovascular management</p></li></ul><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li><p>Conduct outpatient follow-up visits for patients with cardiovascular conditions such as coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, hypertension, and valvular heart disease</p></li><li><p>Perform pre-operative cardiovascular evaluations and risk assessments for patients undergoing surgical procedures</p></li><li><p>Obtain detailed medical histories and perform focused cardiovascular examinations</p></li><li><p>Order and interpret diagnostic studies including laboratory tests, ECGs, and cardiac imaging as appropriate</p></li><li><p>Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising cardiologists</p></li><li><p>Provide medication management and patient education on cardiovascular disease prevention and management</p></li><li><p>Coordinate care with primary care providers, surgeons, and other specialists</p></li><li><p>Document patient encounters and treatment plans accurately in the electronic health record</p></li><li><p>Participate in quality improvement initiatives and practice efficiency efforts</p></li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li><p>Current license and active registration as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in New York State</p></li><li><p>Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program</p></li><li><p>Interest in or experience with cardiovascular medicine preferred</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with electronic medical records; Epic experience preferred</p></li><li><p>Strong communication and collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary clinical environment</p></li><li><p>Commitment to patient-centered care and maintaining HIPAA confidentiality standards</p></li></ul><p><strong>We offer a highly competitive benefits package, including:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Competitive base salary range $116,035-$136,512 with additional incentive bonus opportunity</p></li><li><p>Comprehensive health insurance (medical, dental, vision)</p></li><li><p>Generous paid time off and holiday schedule</p></li><li><p>Albany Med retirement plan plus a 403(b)</p></li><li><p>Annual CME allowance and dedicated CME time</p></li><li><p>Occurrence-based malpractice coverage</p></li><li><p>Employee wellness programs and mental health support</p></li></ul><p>Albany Medical Center is the centerpiece of medicine, research, and medical education in New York's Capital Region and is the area's largest private employer with more than 10,000 employees.</p><p>Albany Medical Center offers excellent career opportunities in a wide range of roles in both patient care and administration.
