The Department of Urology at Albany Medical College is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to join our busy and collaborative general urology practice. This position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive outpatient urologic care in a supportive, team-oriented environment.Position Highlights:<ul><li>Full-time Monday-Friday schedule</li><li>Clinic hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.<ul><li>Upon completion of onboarding and training, four 10-hour days may be available.</li></ul></li><li>Primary sites: South Clinical Campus (Albany) and Niskayuna</li><li>Average 18-20 patients per day once fully trained</li></ul>Responsibilities:<ul><li>Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a wide range of general urologic conditions</li><li>See both scheduled patients and same-day urgent add-ons for concerns such as hematuria, urinary tract infections, elevated PSA, and kidney stones</li><li>Perform in-office procedures, including testosterone and Eligard injections</li><li>Conduct patient education, follow-up visits, and medication management</li><li>Collaborate closely with attending urologists, nursing staff, and administrative support staff to ensure high-quality patient care</li><li>Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including imaging and laboratory studies</li><li>Document patient encounters and treatment plans accurately in the electronic health record</li><li>Participate in quality improvement and practice efficiency initiatives</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>License and active registration as a registered nurse/nurse practitioner or physician assistant in New York State</li><li>Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program</li><li>Familiarity working in electronic medical records.
