<p><strong><u>Job Description</u></strong></p><p>Join our Team at the <strong>Department of Veterans Affairs Community Based Outpatient Clinic, Santa Rosa, CA as a Physician - Primary Care! </strong></p><p>The Physician serves as a Primary Care Provider (PCP) at any Community Based Outpatient Clinic. The CBOC operates under a Patient Aligned Care Team Model. Together with his or her team, comprised of a PCP, RN, LVN, and a Clerk, the PCP cares for a panel of approximately 800-1200 patients. The PCP provides primary care services in a team-based setting, including chronic disease management and preventive health. Common diagnoses encountered include diabetes, hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, degenerative arthritis, depression, congestive heart failure, and chronic pain.</p><p><strong><br>Responsibilities: </strong></p><ul><li><p>Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation for non-surgical adult patients of all ages, without life-threatening complications and with a wide variety of diseases, injuries, and disorders.</p></li><li><p>Assess, stabilize, and determine disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with/oversee mid-level providers such as other nurse practitioners and works collaboratively with other specialties (and subspecialties) in and outside of the VA system to manage or co-manage patients' health.</p></li><li><p>Additional duties as assigned.<strong> </strong></p></li></ul><p><strong><u>Benefits and Features</u></strong></p><ul><li><p><strong>Expected Salary range </strong>from<strong> $285K to $315K</strong> (negotiable based on candidate's qualifications, credentials and experience).</p></li><li><p><strong>Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment):</strong> Authorized.</p></li><li><p><strong>Work Schedule:</strong> Monday through Friday, 8am - 4:30pm, excluding Federal Government holidays</p></li><li><p><strong>Pay:</strong> Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases.</p></li><li><p><strong>Paid Time Off:</strong> 50-55 days of paid time-off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME).</p></li><li><p><strong>Retirement:</strong> Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA.</p></li><li><p><strong>Insurance:</strong> Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement).</p></li><li><p><strong>Licensure:</strong> 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory.</p></li><li><p><strong>CME:</strong> Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification).</p></li><li><p><strong>Malpractice:</strong> Free liability protection with tail coverage provided.</p></li><li><p><strong>Contract:</strong> No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting. </p></li></ul><p>We encourage you to consider VA employment in Santa Rosa, CA.
