Job description
<p>VHC Health is seeking a <strong>PRN MD or DO Physiatrist</strong> to provide <strong>weekend inpatient coverage</strong> for a <strong>20-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit</strong> within the <strong>Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R)</strong> service line. This role is focused on delivering comprehensive medical care to rehabilitation patients, including rounding, admissions, discharges, and consultative services.</p><p><strong><u>Responsibilities</u></strong></p><ul><li><p>Provide in-person medical coverage for patients on the 20-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit.</p></li><li><p>Perform weekend rounding on both Saturday and Sunday.</p></li><li><p>Conduct history and physical examinations for new admissions.</p></li><li><p>Complete discharge evaluations and documentation.</p></li><li><p>Perform inpatient rehabilitation consults as needed.</p></li><li><p>Review and assess outside referrals for potential admission via the electronic medical record.</p></li><li><p>Manage acute and chronic medical conditions during the rehabilitation stay.</p></li><li><p>Ensure timely, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.</p></li></ul><p><strong><u>Schedule</u></strong></p><ul><li><p>PRN weekend role</p></li><li><p>In-person coverage required both Saturday and Sunday when scheduled</p></li><li><p>Potential holiday coverage if scheduled</p></li><li><p>Expected availability: approximately one weekend per month</p></li></ul><p><strong><u>Minimum Requirements</u></strong></p><ul><li><p>MD or DO from an accredited medical school</p></li><li><p>Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R)</p></li><li><p>Active, unrestricted medical license (or ability to obtain)</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated clinical experience beyond residency training</p></li><li><p>Prior experience in an inpatient rehabilitation setting</p></li><li><p>Ability to independently manage inpatient rehabilitation patients</p></li></ul><p>We look forward to hearing from qualified candidates interested in joining us in a highly collegial environment where the patient is at the center of what we do.</p><p><strong>HOW TO APPLY?</strong></p><p>Interested and qualified candidates should send a letter of interest and copy of their CV to Andrea Bell, Director of Recruitment at <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="editor-link" href="mailto:anbell@vhchealth.org">anbell@vhchealth.org</a>.</p><p><em>At VHC Health, every role contributes to exceptional care, better outcomes, and stronger communities.</em></p><p><em>Compensation Range:</em> <em>$250,000.00 - $552,240.00 annually</em></p><p><em>In addition to your base compensation, VHC Health offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage (subject to eligibility requirements), as well as additional wellness and retirement benefits designed to support our employees and their families.</em></p><p><em>VHC Health is committed to wage transparency and equitable pay practices.
