These duties may include performing phlebotomy and specimen collection, the initiation of pre-testing protocols, the performance of waived testing, clerical office duties, housekeeping, inventory management, phone duty, and courier duties as assigned.<div><div>Essential Functions<ul><li>All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's values: Inspire health. Be the difference.</li><li>Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection.</li><li>Coordinates assigned duties to achieve maximum productivity.</li><li>Maintains a work pace that is fast and accurate.</li><li>Follows all patient identification procedures.</li><li>Demonstrates the flexibility to adjust work flow in response to stat orders, emergencies, and other fluctuations in workload.</li><li>Assists in the division of workload to achieve maximum productivity.</li><li>Has complete understanding of procedures and policies pertaining to assigned work.</li><li>Performs duties in an independent manner with limited supervision.</li><li>Endeavors to continually improve job skills.</li><li>Completes duties and uses time between jobs to departments advantage; assisting others, clerical, supply inventory, etc.</li><li>Consistently combines judgment skills to assess situations, considers alternatives and chooses appropriate course of action.</li><li>Determine the timing and correlation of laboratory orders.</li><li>Works with nursing or other ordering providers in determine the timing and correlation of laboratory orders.</li><li>Accurately transcribes laboratory orders and/or accession laboratory specimens.</li><li>Initiates pre-testing protocols.</li><li>Performs waived testing.</li><li>Uses all instruments / equipment in manner consistent with its intended function.</li><li>Has sufficient knowledge of instruments / equipment to perform routine maintenance and address error codes.</li><li>Performs all calibration functions.</li><li>Performs all quality control functions.</li><li>Performs clerical office duties.</li><li>Performs courier duties and maintains a safe driving record.</li><li>Performs inventory management .</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ul></div></div><div>Supervisory/Management Responsibilities<div><ul><li>This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.</li></ul></div><div><div>Minimum Requirements<ul><li>Education - High School diploma or equivalent or post-high school diploma</li><li>Experience - One (1) phlebotomy experience.
