Be the difference.</b></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><span class="emphasis"><u><b>Job Summary</b></u></span></p>Performs those duties, under policies and procedures approved by the Laboratory Director and/or his designees, and laboratory management that are exempt from State of Tennessee laboratory personnel licensing laws. These duties may include performing phlebotomy and specimen collection, the initiation of pre-testing protocols, the performance of waived testing, clerical office duties, housekeeping, inventory management, phone duty, and courier duties as assigned.<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><div><div><p><span class="emphasis"><u><b>Essential Functions</b></u></span></p><ul><li><p>All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's values: Inspire health. Be the difference.</p></li><li><p>Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection.</p></li><li><p>Coordinates assigned duties to achieve maximum productivity.</p></li><li><p>Maintains a work pace that is fast and accurate.</p></li><li><p>Follows all patient identification procedures.</p></li><li><p>Demonstrates the flexibility to adjust work flow in response to stat orders, emergencies, and other fluctuations in workload.</p></li><li><p>Assists in the division of workload to achieve maximum productivity.</p></li><li><p>Has complete understanding of procedures and policies pertaining to assigned work.</p></li><li><p>Performs duties in an independent manner with limited supervision.</p></li><li><p>Endeavors to continually improve job skills.</p></li><li><p>Completes duties and uses time between jobs to departments advantage; assisting others, clerical, supply inventory, etc.</p></li><li><p>Consistently combines judgment skills to assess situations, considers alternatives and chooses appropriate course of action.</p></li><li><p>Determine the timing and correlation of laboratory orders.</p></li><li><p>Works with nursing or other ordering providers in determine the timing and correlation of laboratory orders.</p></li><li><p>Accurately transcribes laboratory orders and/or accession laboratory specimens.</p></li><li><p>Initiates pre-testing protocols.</p></li><li><p>Performs waived testing.</p></li><li><p>Uses all instruments / equipment in manner consistent with its intended function.</p></li><li><p>Has sufficient knowledge of instruments / equipment to perform routine maintenance and address error codes.</p></li><li><p>Performs all calibration functions.</p></li><li><p>Performs all quality control functions.</p></li><li><p>Performs clerical office duties.</p></li><li><p>Performs courier duties and maintains a safe driving record.</p></li><li><p>Performs inventory management .</p></li><li><p><span>Performs other duties as assigned.</span></p></li></ul><p></p></div></div><div><p><span class="emphasis"><u><b>Supervisory/Management Responsibilities</b></u></span></p><div><ul><li><p><span>This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.</span></p></li></ul></div><p></p><div><div><p><span class="emphasis"><u><b>Minimum Requirements</b></u></span></p><ul><li><p>Education - High School diploma or equivalent <span>or post-high school diploma</span></p></li><li><p>Experience - One (1) phlebotomy experience.
