Hours would be during the week M-F 8:00-5:00 with no weekends coverage. </p> <p>New grads welcome to apply! </p> <p><strong>Job Summary </strong> </p> <p>The Occupational Medicine Nurse Practitioner provides advanced nursing care focused on the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and management of work-related injuries and illnesses. The NP works in collaboration with physicians, employers, safety personnel, and healthcare providers to promote employee health, ensure regulatory compliance, and support safe return-to-work strategies. Evaluate, diagnose, and treat work-related injuries and illnesses in accordance with occupational health standards and regulatory guidelines. </p> <p>Conduct pre-employment, periodic, and return-to-work physical examinations. </p> <p>Perform functional capacity evaluations (FCEs), drug and alcohol testing, TB screenings, immunizations, and other health surveillance exams. </p> <p>Collaborate with employers to support workers' compensation claims and return-to-work planning. </p> <p>Educate patients on injury prevention, ergonomics, safe work practices, and chronic disease management. </p> <p>Maintain detailed documentation in compliance with OSHA, DOT, and state/federal guidelines. </p> <p>Communicate with case managers, safety officers, and HR departments to coordinate employee care. </p> <p>Participate in wellness and health promotion programs tailored to the workplace. </p> <p>Assist in the development of occupational health protocols and policies. </p> <p>Ensure timely and appropriate referral to specialty care as needed. </p> <p><strong>Qualifications </strong> </p> <p>Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. </p> <p>If APRN was licensed prior to August 1, 1995, master's degree in nursing is preferred. </p> <p>Experience in occupational medicine, urgent care, emergency medicine, or internal medicine preferred. </p> <p>Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in each state of practice. </p> <p>Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice. </p> <p>State Controlled Substance License (if required by State) </p> <p>National board certification as a Family (FNP-BC) or (FNP-C), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care (AGPCNP-BC) or (A-GNP), Adult (ANP-C). </p> <p>Obtains and subsequently maintains required specific competencies and certifications as outlined on privilege form. </p> <p>Privileging documents and related credentialing requirements will supersede this job description in defining minimum qualifications, criteria, and scope of practice, if variation between documents exists. </p> <p><strong>Benefits </strong> </p> <p>Sanford offers an attractive benefits package for qualifying full-time and part-time employees.
