About the CMS Drug Price Negotiation Program
Through the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, CMS now directly negotiates prices for select high-cost drugs. As part of this effort, CMS engages independent clinical experts to gather perspectives on the clinical use, effectiveness, and value of these therapies. Clinicians provide insight into real-world treatment considerations but are not involved in any price-setting discussions or negotiations.
