Locums - San Francisco, California, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Opening

Clinical Role

• Start date: October 19, 2026
• 26-week assignment
• Child & Adolescent Psychiatry coverage
• Approximately 6-12 patients per day
• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary team
• Manage psychiatric medications and provide multidisciplinary team leadership

Schedule & Call

• Coverage needed 2 weekends per month plus the following Monday and Tuesday
• Monday and Tuesday: 8:00 am-5:00 pm onsite, followed by overnight call until 8:00 am
• Weekends: approximately 6 hours of onsite rounding beginning at 8:00 am
• After weekend rounding, provider remains on call until 8:00 am the following day
• Overnight call includes placing admission orders for accepted patients arriving during the shift

Clinical Expectations

• Strong foundation in psychiatric diagnoses, treatment modalities, psychopharmacology, and psychotherapy
• Experience managing psychiatric medications in children and adolescents
• Knowledge of adolescent development and family systems
• Experience with behavioral management, therapeutic interventions, and de-escalation
• Ability to collaborate with parents/guardians and multidisciplinary teams
• Understanding of legal, educational, and safeguarding considerations relevant to adolescent patients

Requirements & Credentialing

• Board Certified in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry OR Board Certified in General Psychiatry with completed Child & Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship
• Active California license required
• Must currently reside in California
