Careers with our Clients through Forvis Mazars US Executive Search CONTROLLER / ACCOUNTING MANAGER – Charlotte NC The Controller will report directly to the CFO and play a critical role in overseeing the company’s accounting operations and financial processes. He or she will help manage a small team, maintain accurate financial records, manage payroll and risk-related activities and drive process improvements. Success in this role requires strong technical accounting expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with teams across the organization. - Support the CFO and oversee accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close activities. - Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and identifying process improvements and cost-saving opportunities. - Work closely with CFO to prepare accurate financial statements, management reports, and budget-to-actual analyses to support business decision-making. - Manage payroll administration and support employee benefits programs, including health and retirement plans. - Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, internal controls, and company financial policies. - Oversee vendor relationships, contract negotiations, invoice approvals, and timely payment processing to optimize cost and service quality. - Coordinate internal and external audits while ensuring financial transactions are properly documented, reconciled, and maintained. Qualifications - Excellent organizational and time management skills - Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy - Strong problem-solving and solid communication skills - Leadership capabilities and team management experience REQUIREMENTS - Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance - Master's degree or CPA a plus - 3+ years of experience in accounting with some management experience - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software - Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting This position is in office, located near the Southpark area of Charlotte NC.
