Job Description & Requirements/n /n - Specialty: Medical Lab Technician /n - Discipline: Allied Health Professional /n - Duration: Ongoing /n - Employment Type: Staff /n /n /n This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus /n Under the directions of the Medical Directors and management staff, processes and tests all types of laboratory specimens for all age groups from neonates to geriatric patients; reviews and reports lab results; performs operational duties, maintenance and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment. , Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned. /n MINIMUM EDUCATION: Associates Degree from an approved college or university and/or graduate of an accredited school of medical laboratory technicians, or equivalent such as military training as defined by 42 CFR 493.1489. The above meets required criteria as defined by CLIA regulations for High Complexity testing (42 CFR 493.1489, Jan. 24, 2003 PREFERRED EDUCATION: MINIMUM EXPERIENCE : 0-2 years as a medical laboratory technician. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE : None PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Certified (registered) or registry-eligible in accordance with an approved certifying agency, e.g. ASCP, HHS, AMT. Registry eligible should obtain certification within 1 year from date of hire. Once certified, no annual renewals are required.
