Job Description Company Description Transitions Reintegration Services Inc. provides Vocational, Recreational, Aquatic, and Occupational Therapy services to individuals recovering from motor vehicle accident-related injuries. The organization serves clients of all ages, offering personalized, functional interventions that support daily living and community participation. All services are delivered in clients’ homes and local communities to ensure therapy occurs in real-world settings. Therapists travel throughout the state of Michigan, including Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Detroit, Ann Arbor, Lansing, Traverse City, and surrounding areas, to provide accessible and consistent care. /n /n Role Description The Certified Recreational Therapist (CTRS) is a full-time, on-site role based in Detroit, MI. This position involves assessing clients’ functional abilities, interests, and goals, and developing individualized therapeutic recreation treatment plans. The CTRS will facilitate evidence-informed recreation and leisure-based interventions, including community outings, adaptive activities, and structured therapeutic programs to support physical, cognitive, emotional, and social rehabilitation. Daily responsibilities include documenting progress notes, collaborating with interdisciplinary team members, communicating with clients and families, and ensuring services align with treatment goals and insurance requirements. The role also includes traveling locally to provide services in clients’ homes and community settings, maintaining professional standards, and participating in ongoing quality improvement and training. /n /n Qualifications /n /n - Strong foundation in Recreation and Therapeutic Recreation to design and implement goal-driven, client-centered interventions. /n - Active CTRS credential (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) and knowledge of relevant standards and best practices. /n - Ability to accurately complete Progress Notes and clinical documentation in a timely and compliant manner. /n - Experience or interest in Art Therapy and creative modalities to support emotional expression and engagement. /n - Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Therapy, or a related field required. /n - Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel locally for in-home and community-based sessions. /n - Strong communication, collaboration, and time-management skills; ability to work independently in varied settings. /n - Experience working with individuals recovering from injuries or in rehabilitation settings is preferred. /n
