Key Responsibilities
- Develop and direct individualized physical therapy treatment plans aimed at reducing pain, preventing disability, and restoring optimal muscle function.
- Supervise physical therapy assistants to ensure adherence to the treatment plan while providing guidance on therapeutic procedures and methods.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' physical function using diagnostic tests and assessments to tailor rehabilitation strategies.
- Assess clients' living environments to recommend modifications that can enhance their independence effectively.
- Deliver physical therapy services as prescribed by physicians, which may include administering manual therapeutic exercises and instructing clients in their use.
- Provide traction, massage, and physical agent treatments as part of the comprehensive treatment regimen.
- Assess, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices to meet individual patient needs, collaborating with physicians for necessary modifications.
- Document all clinical records accurately, prepare evaluations and progress notes, and maintain organized client files in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Participate actively in interdisciplinary case conferences, sharing insights and contributing to the overall treatment planning and evaluation process.
- Educate clients and their families on managing their therapy devices and understanding their therapy programs.
- Complete all documentation, including clinical and payroll reports, timely and in accordance with company policies.
- Be accessible for consultation to Physical Therapy Assistants during client treatments.
- Fulfill other duties as necessary to support the overall objectives of the clinic and enhance patient outcomes.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will primarily serve outpatient clients with diverse physical therapy needs, from post-surgical rehabilitation to orthopedic injuries. The focus will be on empowering these individuals to regain their independence and improve their quality of life through a structured, evidence-based therapeutic approach.
Qualifications
- A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required to ensure an advanced understanding of therapeutic principles and practices.
- Possession of an active and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the state of New Jersey is essential.
- Preferred candidates will demonstrate a clean record with no history of sanctions or board proceedings, exemplifying our commitment to high ethical standards.
- Proficiency in the use of electronic medical record (EMR) systems, particularly Web PT, is necessary for efficient documentation and patient management.
- An extensive knowledge of current physical therapy practices supported by relevant research is crucial.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience working in an outpatient clinical setting is highly desirable, as it equips you with the essential skills for this role.
- Expertise in various manual therapy techniques and the ability to design personalized exercise programs that yield effective results.
- Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with clients and families, ensuring they understand their treatment processes and the importance of active participation.
Compensation and Benefits
In recognition of your valuable contributions, we offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 100,000 to 120,000 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
